Renaming...

I get asked every day at the Blue Bison about the hot springs of Hot Springs and where they are, and can you go soak in them, and typical touristy questions. Usually i say "um, well, there's Evan's Plunge, or the Bath House", but the other day... I renamed this podunk place. Because, actually, i don't think there are any HOT SPRINGS any where around here. If there are, they are well hidden from the public eye and disposal. So, i no longer am residing in Hot Springs. I live in Warm River, South Dakota. Come visit! It's a great place to bring the fam, and I know of a great little ice cream shop that sells soups and sandwiches....

It's the week After Easter... Resurrection Sunday... celebration of New Life and Power over Death.  Last week was good.  I had some good reads last week: Love to the Uttermost , The Jesus Storybook Bible , Galatians , John , The Story of Hope .  I listened to a Resurrection playlist that was over 8 hours long so I don't think that I ever made it all the way through.  I had encouraging time with my church family here as we celebrated the Truth of the Gospel. interruptions

You know how life is not always what you were expecting or planned? Yeah... my life precisely. Hence the phrase, "Life is an adventure." Because, well, it is. You see, I've been skiing for 10+ years and this year was no exception! I had the opportunity to go on an awesome sauce weekend with some work friends to Telluride : friends, fresh powder, skiing, too many slopes to choose from, Colorado goodness - how is this a bad plan ???  Well it wasn't.... until the unexpected happened and I found myself relaxing on the side of the mountain waiting for my Ski Patrol buddies to come rescue me from my broken bone dilemma. The moral of the story is: never assume that it won't happen to you. nothing new [under the sun]

I feel like I am in a transition place. waiting. planning. carrying on with "normal" life. anticipating the changes that the future holds. just trying to get laundry done and keep the dishes washed and the bags out of the way of foot traffic. I feel like I have been blessed with so much.   a great support network of friends. awesome church family. job = perfect for me. so many opportunities to satisfy my wanderlust this year. the black hills in my back yard. family who love Christ and love me.  that's why I was a little surprised to find myself searching. to find myself dissatisfied . i wanted more  places to go. more people to spend time with. longer nights. everyone's schedule planned around me. better experiences. more adrenaline thrills. time off work. the responsibilities to take care of themselves. why is it not enough?  because i found myself seeking for attention  or acceptance  or satisfaction anywhere other than from Christ .
