A summer song (for the end of the season)

Image
Without fail, this song makes me feel nostalgic for, well, summer nights (also, last summer I sang this song while watching Jack under the stars..???? diditreallyhappenordididreamit ). Cheers to the summer.

Some recommendations for your Saturday

Image
This is a rare Saturday: it's not snowing (like the above picture indicates)! And all of us are home with no place to rush  off to (partially because everyone is sick right now, but it's whatever)!  Cliche, but true, I am sitting here sipping my coffee and listening to the birds chirp outside (I probably should be outside myself) as well as the sad coughing of my kiddo (that part is not cliche).  Here's some other things that I have been listening to lately:  the Journeywomen podcast -any episode is recommendable! Probably the only podcast I fully keep up with.  Andrew Peterson's Resurrection Letters vol.1 -especially "His Heart Beats" and "Is He Worthy?" Streetlights Bible App -Romans, currently, because we are studying that on Sunday morning.  "should we move" by Seth Avett as Darling, because Clara reminded me that this song existed and then I wondered why I didn't own it, and then I bought it and the rest is history...

Music Monday: Bastille

This music Monday is brought to you courtesy of the Tramp household current obsession. Matt digs it. I dig it. Amos digs it. You can't go wrong!  Happy Monday!

Music: The Lone Bellow

These guys. Uhg. New album coming soooon! (one of my favorite concerts. see below for a sweaty, cheeser, picture) (PS, Amos was a teeny, tiny babe in my belly. And I forgot my I.D., so I got the X of shame on my hand before we entered the venue. Buuuuut. We also got to stand close enough to get spit on, so ya know. That was a win ;) )  (also, literally no idea who the chick in the floral shirt is. bonus person)

Music Monday: Seth Avett

"It took a while to find ya, and life ain't movin' slow, but now we have each other, and it's time to build a home. We'll be the same man and wife,  who live a big and blessed life, who take the hard way to learn all we know, who love in full wherever we go. Could we grow good tomatoes and a family  anywhere?"

Music Monday: Nathan and Eva

These guys are fun. Still .  I love that they are brother and sister (incase I never mentioned that before)! Happy Monday, y'all.

Merry, merry, merry

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Here's the albums that I have been listening to on repeat this year. First off, this golden album from Sufjan Stevens. Forty two songs . You won't be sorry. (P.S. Anybody know how to pronounce that first name?) This next album is technically for kids, but it's f antastic listening for advent! And my new all-time favorite Christmas album: The Light Came Down . SO. GOOD. I mean, Josh outdid himself. I am crying giant tears of sorrow because I can't be at one of his Christmas concerts. What are you listening to this year (Or every year)?

Music Monday: Sandra McCracken

Image
I went to bed with these two songs playing over and over in my mind and woke up with (surprise) these two songs stuck in my head. In a world of instability and heartbreak and struggle and sin and broken people, I am glad that I can trust the God who is always good and who is always available. PS, if you want a couple of encouraging albums, I highly recommend Psalms by Sandra McCracken and The Hymn Sing: Live in Nashville by Indelible Grace Music.

Music Monday: Never not in the mood

Image
We used to laugh a lot, But only because we thought That everything good Always would Remain. In my wildest dreams, I am close to the stage for a Jack Johnson concert. And I probably fall over from joy and disbelief that I am seeing him LIVE.  So yeah, if any of y'all want to make that happen, that would be greaaaat.  xoxo Ps, What are you listening to these days? Jack has been a long time fav, and I am always in the mood for his music.

Music (totally not on) Monday: Josh Garrels

Josh, killing it, as usual. Hoping to see this guy live, as usual!

We went to Boulder.

Hurray, birthdays! Mine was in January, but my Main Man bought me tickets for a concert in March, so we got to celebrate in our classic quick trip way. I am spoiled.    Don't even get me started on this pizza. Heart eyes for days. If you're in town, check out  Pizeria Locale  (and be sure to go at happy hour). Live music is a love language of mine, and this was so.good. I didn't really know anything about Jessica Lea Mayfield, except that she had scary eyes .. but her voice. Oh.My.Lanta. I am a huge fan of the Avett Brothers so Seth Avett was a no brainer... the two of them together - magic . Love . Unfortunately, I didn't get any good pictures of the concert since we were seated too far back and I only had my 50mm lens. Sad Face. Of course we hunted down All The Coffee.  Boulder Baked was fun.. because. well. Baked. But the espresso was less than impressive. Unfortunately we were there direc...

An oldie but a goodie.  Because, PS, I am going to see him LIVE this summer and you better believe I am going to be fangirling all over the place.

Music Monday: Mumford and Sons

What the what?  Just after we thought they were done touring and weren't going to be popping out another album any time soon if ever... BAM. They're back with a new album and a new sound... not too shabby!  Can't wait to hear the rest.

Music Monday: Old MacDonald

So there's that overload of cute. Happy Monday!
