[and this is why i love my job so much]

because who wouldn't love sitting by the river in the sunshine? ...and being attacked by vicious dogs? ...and reading good books? (fierce hunter) ...and nap time in the shade? Well, wouldn't YOU love your job too?

on waiting

I've been learning about trust lately. I mean, all of life has been about learning to trust in one form or another... ... but right now, trust is kind of a theme... Right now, trust means letting go. Trust means, giving up my desires and wishes. Trust means simply waiting. And this is hard. I don't like to have to wait, when it seems like I could/should be doing something. I don't like to give up my desires and wishes when I think that they are not such bad things. I don't want to let go of this thing. But this is what God has for me now. And so I am learning to rest. And be patient. And while I wait, I am learning to serve God, pursue Christ, love others. Because I know that God is sovereign and that He has a plan. He has proven His goodness to me over and over again. How silly of me to forget so soon. Once again, Psalm 33 comes to mind. (I'm stuck on this chapter) I would love to put the whole thing down, because it's good and applicable. But I'll just sha...

on nights like tonight, when the sky is so big and so dark, and the road is so deserted, i feel VERY very small. Like a tiny speck of yellow on a giant black wall . I drive above the speed limit and disregard the lines and neglect the blinker [but at least I wear my seat belt]

sittin' waitin' wishin'

a little bit of somethin' somethin'

Sometimes I feel like when I blog, it's a little like times when I journal. There's a lot going on upstairs, but I'm not really sure how to put it down, or what to put down. So I start somewhere and about ten pages later... there's a whole lot of randomness that doesn't make much sense, but I sure feel better. Ok, so maybe that's a slight exaggeration, but you get the idea. So here we go... I was listening to a random talk show a few weeks back on my way home from work and they were discussing social networking, and how it is affecting our society. I know you have all heard the rants about the pro's and cons of it all, in fact my fabulous sister is willing and able to give you a piece of her mind on this matter. Just ask her :) ( http://lifeissofullofanumberofthings.blogspot.com/2009/02/facebook-friends.html ) But something they said that has kind of stuck with me is that with all of this networking, whether its blogging or Facebooking, or Twittering, or w...

i don't believe in blogging without posting pictures... (which i failed last time i posted) so here's a recap of choir tour in picture form (as opposed to another long schpeal) read and laugh (as opposed to weeping)

across the universe (or maybe it was just a few states)

i got to travel the country (well, parts of it) i learned things about God i learned things about people i learned things about myself ... i traveled through: Nebraska, Iowa, Ohio, Indiana, West Virginia, Virginia, DC, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, Delaware, Kansas, and South Dakota (I may have forgotten one or two places) ... i was reminded of God's faithfulness and goodness. excerpts from Psalm 9 say: "I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds. I will be glad and exult in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High... For you have maintained my just cause; you have sat on the throne, giving righteous judgment. You have rebuked the nations; you have made the wicked perish; you have blotted out their name forever and ever... But the LORD sits enthroned forever; he has established his throne for justice, and he judges the world with righteousness; he judges the peoples with uprightness. The LORD is a str...

I am graduated. This is weird and exhilarating all at the same time. I don't like to say goodbye. And now I get to face the whole wide world. I don't know if the world is ready. ok, so maybe i'm the one not ready. I'm glad that God is in control of all of life . These are people that God has blessed me with, and that I love:
