i'm sorry.

you guys, even I am slightly annoyed by the fact that my last few posts have been videos. video posts from youtube do not equal blogging.

i am sorry.

it's been one week sans snow storm. thanks, may, for having sunshine. i have yet to get my tan on.
it has been one year back at work. i feel like that is saying something. in fact, i am going to use that as an excuse to eat some pie, thanks.
it has been finals and busy shifts and freak out sessions both pre and post test.
it has been company and fam bam and mom's homemade dinner.
and asparagus. lots of asparagus.

one freaking week til i leave for brasil. so.much.to.do.
planning for a 10 hour layover in NYC. here's to exploration and not missing any flights (fingers crossed).
mostly i'm excited to eat some superb food and accept the challenge of communication and love on people in a different culture. and to learn. always, always room to grow.

Yah, somehow, even though we've had a total of TWO sunny days this spring, the kids are already tan.

You know how life is not always what you were expecting or planned? Yeah... my life precisely. Hence the phrase, "Life is an adventure." Because, well, it is. You see, I've been skiing for 10+ years and this year was no exception! I had the opportunity to go on an awesome sauce weekend with some work friends to Telluride : friends, fresh powder, skiing, too many slopes to choose from, Colorado goodness - how is this a bad plan ???  Well it wasn't.... until the unexpected happened and I found myself relaxing on the side of the mountain waiting for my Ski Patrol buddies to come rescue me from my broken bone dilemma. The moral of the story is: never assume that it won't happen to you. Five Minute Friday: After

It's the week After Easter... Resurrection Sunday... celebration of New Life and Power over Death.  Last week was good.  I had some good reads last week: Love to the Uttermost , The Jesus Storybook Bible , Galatians , John , The Story of Hope .  I listened to a Resurrection playlist that was over 8 hours long so I don't think that I ever made it all the way through.  I had encouraging time with my church family here as we celebrated the Truth of the Gospel. And now, the Week After, I am feeling a little ...overwhelmed? let down?   Because After Easter I have only 3 weeks left of class.  And After Easter I only have one week left with my Moving Friends.  And After Easter I only have a month left with Friends who are here for school.  And After Easter life seems so.... well. anti climactic?  Which is all ridiculous because the whole beautiful thing about the week after the Resurrection is purpose and hope  Before it was me the hopeless and helpless los

[also, i think i fell in love with asparagus this year] this is how we be social.  i forgot how much i love walks in the fields at sunset.  #ilovenebraska my littlest of little sibs turned 13! !!! help! i have this thing for daisies.  seriously. give me a brother and a late night and we will have an adventure. CREW kids.... summer CREW is my fav. Yes, we are learning about Jesus on the playground! Don't judge us. or our ice cream.  the benefits of having my job. location location location. tradition: biking adventure with The Don.
