Music Monday: Blessed Redeemer

Image
I am excited for this week and weekend. Easter Sunday is one of my favorite holidays because of the celebration of the resurrection of Christ, and it is always such a huge blessing to share that celebration with my church body here in Hot Town. The choir is singing this song this year, and since it's been stuck in my head, I thought I'd share the love. What are some of your favorite Easter songs?

No big deal...

...just me and the Hellers . (oh and my brother [with twinner hair] and the niecephews) So much fun! Just her and her husband playing an acoustic set (ok, and that other guy for a couple of songs)  and going back and forth with stories and teasing. I seriously had the biggest freak-out moment ( besides that one time when I was walking all unsuspectingly into the Calvary Bible College dorms and there stood Gracia Burnham ). The broski and I took a quick trip down to catch Sanctus Real and J.J. Heller on their last concert of the Promises Tour .. it was double motivation/bonus to be able to go down and join my B.I.L and his two oldest kids. Did I ever mention that I love live music? It's one of the best things ever. There were 3 other bands that played that night, but I was mostly stoked to see one of my favorite singer/songwriter artists. Those other guys just might show up in a Music Monday post.. but that remains to be seen ;)  ...

Follow my blog with Bloglovin Did you know that Google Reader is going bye bye? I had a little freak out session because I READ ALL THE BLOGS that way! But then I found bloglovin and said to myself that maybe the world wasn't going to end after all. Not really sure how it all works yet, but hey, give a follow along, if you feel so inclined ;) Also, here is a picture of me and some of the beautiful girls in hospice that I was privileged to brush lives with. They left and indelible impact on my heart.

this guy. I bet you probably get tired of me saying that I listened to his album a thousand times and that I was obsessed with it. but. well. I guess I'm predictable. "Love and War and the Sea In Between ," especially, became part of the soundtrack of my life (what else is new, right?). I bet you didn't know... he's not only giving away ALL of his albums on Noisetraide for the next couple weeks, but he is also giving away all of his tips to World Relief -Congo . so go share the love.

Last weekend I was eating amazing Indian food (which I didn't take a picture of because I was too busy stuffing my face) and this lovely gyro from the Jerusalem Cafe. It was a weekend of reconnecting with friends, eating amazing food, and laughing a lot. Tonight i got home late from class and was starving because I had not had time to eat before class, so I threw a grilled cheese sammich on the stove ... and promptly forgot about it.  Reasons I should not be left a lone to cook when I am tired #321.  Because I was too lazy to make another one, I decided to eat the slab of charcoal on my third-hand teddy bear plate, while trying not to wake up my roommate with the exhaust fan (that or my laughing-at-self chuckle). Welcome back to reality, Liz You can just chalk this up to the list of reasons you are having a mid-twenties life crisis and call it a night. Cheers, friends Remember, ketchup covers a multitude of sins  charcoal flavors. ...

Music Monday: DCB

this song is tied to memories from a lot of my different life stages and people and places. I was listening to it on the way home from a trip this past weekend (which is consequently why Music Monday is late), and was just blessed again by the simple reminder of the amazing grace and love of Christ. Oh how He loves!
