sometimes. I just have to shake my head. 

because while I'm here soaking up and trying to experience every last bit of what summer has to offer in the BH,
 I am also calling and writing and planning and buying and prepping for...

my trip to South Africa!!!


what??? 
where did summer go? 
I keep pinching myself, but it's true. in a month, I'll be packing my bags [again] and heading into The Unknown.
Unknown people, Unknown experiences, Unknown culture, Unknown food, Unknown life.
and I'm so stoked!!!
but also a little bit scared.

can I get a holla'?

Holy smokes, it's been a year already! You know what they say, time flies when you're having fun! ;) Since I didn't really blog at all about the Best Day Ever that happened last year, I thought I would steal a Q&A idea from some of my favorite photographers . Five Minute Friday: After

It's the week After Easter... Resurrection Sunday... celebration of New Life and Power over Death.  Last week was good.  I had some good reads last week: Love to the Uttermost , The Jesus Storybook Bible , Galatians , John , The Story of Hope .  I listened to a Resurrection playlist that was over 8 hours long so I don't think that I ever made it all the way through.  I had encouraging time with my church family here as we celebrated the Truth of the Gospel. And now, the Week After, I am feeling a little ...overwhelmed? let down?   Because After Easter I have only 3 weeks left of class.  And After Easter I only have one week left with my Moving Friends.  And After Easter I only have a month left with Friends who are here for school.  And After Easter life seems so.... well. anti climactic?  Which is all ridiculous because the whole beautiful thing about the week after the Resurrection is purpose and hope  Before it was me the hopeless and helpless los

You know how life is not always what you were expecting or planned? Yeah... my life precisely. Hence the phrase, "Life is an adventure." Because, well, it is. You see, I've been skiing for 10+ years and this year was no exception! I had the opportunity to go on an awesome sauce weekend with some work friends to Telluride : friends, fresh powder, skiing, too many slopes to choose from, Colorado goodness - how is this a bad plan ???  Well it wasn't.... until the unexpected happened and I found myself relaxing on the side of the mountain waiting for my Ski Patrol buddies to come rescue me from my broken bone dilemma. The moral of the story is: never assume that it won't happen to you. Also, make sure that you have awesome friends to take care of you when you are on drugs.  (P.S. hospital gowns totally live up to their reputation: hawt.) life is looking a lot like this these days:    I've been living in my sweats and spending a lot of qualit
